Thank you for your interest in presenting at Training magazine's 42nd annual Training 2019 Conference & Expo (Feb 25 - Feb 27, Orlando).

We welcome submissions from in-the-trenches learning professionals, consultants, authors and vendors from corporations, academia, non-profits, government and the military. We look for how-to content, best practices and thought-provoking ideas — all with a focus on how to reach new levels of performance. We challenge you to submit interesting content and interactive session ideas.


Training 2019 Conference & Expo is brought to you by Training — the industry’s leading magazine and your source for professional development. For more than 50 years, Training magazine has advocated corporate learning and workforce enrichment for business results. Training 2019 covers the core areas of workplace learning including: design, development, implementation, assessment, evaluation, management, engagement, strategy, and learning technologies.


Participants are learning professionals from all sectors including academic institutions, government/military, healthcare/medical services, manufacturing, finance/banking, transportation/utilities and business services. Participants include designers, developers, instructors, project managers, facilitators, coordinators, managers, and learning executives — anyone charged with increasing performance in the workplace. 


  • A maximum of four proposals may be submitted by any one person.
  • All proposals must be educational in nature — sales-oriented proposals will not be accepted or considered.
  • All steps of the proposal submission process must be completed.
  • All proposals will go through a thorough review process with an outside Review Committee.
  • Primary presenter will receive a complimentary conference registration; up to two co-presenters will receive 50% conference discount.
  • Training magazine does not pay per diem, honoraria, or expenses for session presenters.
  • Presenters to provide computer and/or mobile device and any software required for the presentation. Training will provide Wi-Fi, screen, projector, computer audio, and mic. Additional AV will be provided on a case-by-case basis.
  • Event will be promoted in printed brochures; on TrainingConference.com, TrainingMag.com, and TrainingMagNetwork.com; in Training magazine; in Training Weekly e-newsletter; and via emails to the Training universe of subscribers, attendees and members.
  • Selected presenters will be notified by September 17, 2018. If you are not contacted by September 17, your proposal will be placed on a stand-by list and you will be considered as a substitute presenter.


  • Content offers important, relevant content.
  • Content deals with new trends, tools or strategies for learning.
  • Content is clear and complete.
  • Content clearly shows value.
  • Content is aligned with conference theme of performance improvement.
  • Session showcases a proven, industry-changing example.
  • Session description, title and learning objectives are clearly defined.
  • Session fits with overall need for diversity of content and perspectives.
  • Proposals used to promote specific products or services will not be accepted.
  • Speaker’s presentation experience and background will be taken into account.
  • Bonus Points for using good grammar and punctuation.
  • Brownie Points for clarity and conciseness.
  • Bonus Brownie Points for challenging and creative content.


  • Presenter contact information.
  • Presenter bio focused on qualifications to present this information, including previous conference experience. 
  • Presenter LinkedIn URL and links to sample video presentation(s) if available.
  • Session level, intended audience, content category, and format (60-minute breakout session, 3-hour clinic).
  • Specific, descriptive title which clearly states the benefit of attending (12-word limit).
  • Concise, clear and jargon-free description of the theme/purpose of presentation (200-word limit).
  • A minimum of 3 performance-based learning objectives.
  • A two-sentence synopsis of session, including what's in it for participants.
