Playing for Innovation: Where Tech Meets Art Meets Gastronomy ... With Designer Erika Marthins

Photo of designer Erika Marthins on the left and a chocolate record on the right; all on a black backgroundTo design, develop, and deliver great training, you know you need to always be asking questions, looking for new techniques, trying new combinations. Fostering a creative mindset that constantly asks “What’s there? What can I change? What can I fix?” is challenging — even exhausting. Need some inspiration?

Meet Erika Marthins, a designer from Sweden who is asking big questions about humans and technology. Many of these questions involve the collision of food, technology, and imagination to spark bold, innovative ideas: If we can eat technology, what is technology? How might I embed augmented reality inside a lollipop? Can a chocolate record allow you to hear what you taste?

Only at the Training 2025 Kickoff ... you will get an up-close view of Erika’s prototypes that embed digital information into physical objects in a playful and innovative way, while also gaining insights into her studio’s work where playfulness isn’t just for fun — it’s a driver of innovation. Leave with fresh perspectives on how a creative mindset can address real-world challenges — perhaps even transforming how you approach your own work in L&D!

Come meet new colleagues and enjoy appetizers, beer, wine, and NA drinks!

BONUS: Erika will not only showcase her Augmented Food Prototypes at the Kickoff, but will show them again in the Innovations in Training Test Kitchen in the Expo on Monday, where she will also lead a mini-workshop on “Interactive Music-Making With Food”!
